Fragrance향료

향료hyang-ryo
On a Korean label: 향료 = Fragrance.

What it is

Not one ingredient: the label name for any substance or mix added to create or mask a scent.

On a Korean label

Written 향료. Korean rules let brands list fragrance simply as 향료, and fragrances may appear anywhere in the list rather than in order of amount. Fragrance-free products say 무향.

Korean rules

  • Label caution: Fragrance allergens listed by the MFDS — such as linalool (리날룰) and limonene (리모넨) — must be named in the ingredient list when they exceed 0.001% in leave-on or 0.01% in rinse-off products; 향료 alone is not enough (화장품 사용할 때의 주의사항 및 알레르기 유발성분 표시에 관한 규정).
